We’re seeing seeing spots, and we like it! Polka dots are reemerging as a fashion trend (as all great trends do) and we couldn’t be happier. The latest release featuring the pattern is a pair of Keds Champions. The patriotic, dotted sneakers are the collaborative effort of the classic shoe company and Swedish brand Happy Socks. Decorated in red, creme and blue, the canvas upper of the silhouette matches the accompanying pair of horizontal striped socks. Comfy Keds and an exclusive pair of Happy Socks? I think Santa got started early!
Quay Eyeware is a line of sunglasses from Australia that offers fun styles at an affordable price. Retailing for about $40, you can get yourself a designer pair of glasses without spending designer money. All of the styles shown are in stores now and Gwen Stefani has been seen rockin’ some of these styles - and we know she has great taste. You can find Quay at Urban Outfitters, Karmaloop, Modcloth and Nordstrom.
New to the line is None The Wiser, a line of sustainably made bamboo glasses that are handmade. These glasses (last picture below) retail for a bit more at around $160 but you know that you didn’t harm any people or the environment by buying them. Not a big price to pay for stylish social responsibility right? Learn more at NoneTheWiserEyewear.com.
I grew up wearing plain ol’ white Keds every summer so when I see how the line has expanded it’s always a pleasant surprise. For Spring 2013 Keds is taking the classic style and sprucing it up with different colors, fabrics, eyelets and soles. Some styles have jute soles, some have 3 eyelets while some have 4, some have thicker soles, while others have the traditional sole. Whatever your taste or mood you will find something you like whether it’s florals, polka dots, pointy toes, neons, high tops, crazy patterns, gingham or stripes. Here are some of my favorites…
As any NARS fan knows, Francois Nars photographs all of his ad campaigns, as well as the photos in his books.  So it’s no surprise that he’s a firm believer in clear, luminescent skin is the best foundation for any makeup look.  To capture the power of light in an anti-aging collection that helps skin reflect light as never before,  Nars discontinued his previous skincare line (except the Gentle Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover and Makeup Removing Water) to introduce: NARSskin. Each NARSskin product contains unique Light Reflecting Complexâ¢, utilizing pure ingredients that work in synergy to transform the skin and boost its translucency. Light-Active Micro-Prisms are combined with algae extract and Polynesian seawater to optically enhance light reflection, promote natural cellular turnover, and infuse skin with moisture.
In clinical tests, participants claimed brighter, smoother, more resilient skin. Therefore, makeup application goes on easier, blends evenly and lasts longer than before product use.
I have problematic, sensitive skin (eczema-proned) and I experienced breakouts with the original skincare line. I was curious but also hesitant to try this line. I was lucky enough to try three items from this line: Gentle Cream Cleanser, Multi-Action Hydrating Toner and Double Refining Exfoliator.
Participants claimed softer skin, comfort, conditioning with the cleanser. I will say that if lathered pretty nicely and my skin did feel soft after rinsing off but I immediately felt dry seconds after. My usual CeraVe hydrating cleanser makes my skin feel softer longer after washing. Testers of the toner claimed hydration, softness, evening of skin and immediate tone. These results I can agree with. The exfoliator, also got great test results - instant softness, gentle, non-irritating, minimizing pores. This I can also agree with. I was so pleased the first week with my items and I immediately thought that this could be my new skincare regimen.
However, a few days later I broke out. My skin tends to freak out when I switch my routine abruptly. I went back to using my CeraVe cleanser and when my skin goes back to normal, I will try to incorporate the toner again - especially if I wore a heavier foundation that day or after a workout. I’ll stick to using the exfoliator just once a week.  I will recommend this to those that don’t have super sensitive skin, like mine. I can’t report on any  brightening effects since I just started using this and I am not able to use this regularly. Please don’t let this deter you from trying the new skincare line, keep in mind that everyone has different skin types and issues.
I am willing to incorporate this in my night routine because who doesn’t want to strive for luminescent skin, over the age of 35?
Gentle Cream Cleanser - $29, Purifying Foam Cleanser - $29, Multi-Action Hydrating Toner - $32, Double Refining Exfoliator - $34, Aqua Gel Luminous Mask - $39, Total Replenishing Eye Cream - $55, Aqua Gel Luminous Oil-Free Moisturizer -$58, Luminous Moisture Cream - $62, Optimal Brightening Concentrate - $72.
The three items I tested were sent to me for consideration by the PR folks at NARS cosmetics
Now available at department stores that carry the NARS collection, as well as online at www.narscosmetic.com
When I thought of Verona Italy, one thing always came to mind - Romeo and Juliet - it’s the city where the most famous love story of all time took place. Now thanks to Ventidue, I’ll also think of statement handbags that are edgy and fun at the same time.
Designed by two Italian sisters, these bags and cuffs are not for wall flowers - they are for women who want to be noticed and are fearless. Using bright prints whether it’s a floral or a neon leopard print, the bags feature clean silhouettes with lots of fun embellishments and hardware like skulls, spikes and studs.
You can find Ventidue at Kitson, Opening Ceremony, Free People and Pixie Market or online at ShopVentidueOnline.com.

Bambam is a line out of Australia that’s been around for seven years but is just now coming stateside to grace us with the brightest, photo print spandex I’ve ever seen. Vibrant photos done up in bold eye-catching colors printed on bodysuits, leggings and tops are the scene stealers here. Many of the prints are inspired by nature whether it’s flaura, fauna or the galaxy - whatever you’re into I’m sure you’ll find something you like. Bambam also makes some really nice denim and leather jackets with fun studded details. You can find Bambam at Asos and Urban Outfitters.

Dear MISSter Simms,
I’m 24 and was married once before several years ago for an incredibly short amount of time.  Like they say, we all make mistakes!  I now find myself about to get married again to someone new, and we’re in the middle of planning what should be a wonderful wedding.  The thing is, I want an engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party, and all the traditional wedding events, but should I considering I did all that the first time around?  I really just want to enjoy these things again with my new fiancé! What do you think?
New Bride to Be AgainÂ
Do I think you should do all those things again? Â Sure, why not! Â Go crazy! Â You’re still young, after all, so why not enjoy yourself? Just don’t expect all your friends to share in the joy with you. Â Bridal showers, weddings, strippers, engagement parties…all of that ain’t cheap. Â And while your friends may have been doing just fine several years ago, word on the streets is that unemployment is still fairly high, and we’re still up to our necks in the recession. Â What you might want to consider doing is having one big party that combines elements of all the things you want, and letting your friends know that gifts are totally optional. Â Your friends would not only appreciate not having to shell out money they may not have for you (again), but they’d get to enjoy their first ever bridal shower with a stripper jumping out of a cake!

Dr. Martens is upping the ante and is giving you bold colors, silhouettes and prints for Spring 2013. Classic styles are given a makeover in patent leather ranging from primary colors to pastels. Prints are big for spring as well with the leopard print being my favorite (no surprise there), a nod to the 90s with happy faces on the toe box of the boots as well as more boots made with Liberty of London floral fabrics.
Fashion forward boots are made more feminine with cut outs, the addition of high heels and more studs than you can count. In fact, there’s an entire collection that features different silhouettes just covered in studs - which looks amazing. Finally, there’s the Made in England collection that features premium leathers and fabrics and each of the boots are - as the name suggests - made in England. The premium line features Italian leathers, English suiting fabric, silks used from a British tie company and kilting flaps over laces.
I’m looking forward to these styles to come out as they will be just as hot come spring, summer, autumn or winter.

For Spring 2013, Kill City Jeans takes us through decades of motorcycle culture. Split into three deliveries, each round is inspired by a different type of moto culture. The first delivery features classic styles like vests, leather, sheerness, studs and the classic motorcycle jacket. The second delivery is inspired by the 1970s and has an Easy Rider vibe to it. I loved the denim vest and military jacket with patches and the brand invites you to further customize the pieces with your own patches. I also really liked the “shot up” tees - very soft long tees with tiny holes so you literally look like you may have taken a few shots. Last, the third delivery features the more athletic, clean lines of urban motorcycle culture. Lots of the pieces were reminiscent of Motocross and others were inspired by Yolandi of Die Antwoord. Get your helmets ready ladies because it’s time to hit the open road with Kill City this coming spring!
Everyone knows the iconic Lacoste crocodile gracing classic, simple French sportswear. Lacoste recently launched Lacoste L!ve - the hipper, younger sibling to Lacoste. The Lacoste L!ve line has focused on the men’s collection and for Spring 2013, Lacoste is pushing Lacoste L!ve Femme for the ladies. The L!ve collection features slimmer cuts and more contemporary and fashion details. The collection is full of vibrant colors and great details such as beading and embroidery. My favorite part of the Lacoste L!ve Femme collection is the oversize crocodile that is cheekily winking back at you. You can find Lacoste L!ve Femme in select boutiques and online.
